MY STORY

Hi! I’m Anna – a Scottish designer living with my family near Lisbon, Portugal.

When I was a kid I loved drawing and painting, and was set on becoming an art teacher ‘when I grew up’. But life took a different path which led me to study geography and eventually work in business development for a global I.T. company.

That company brought me to Portugal in 2004, and although I expected to stay for only a few months, I was immediately captivated by its charms.

Fast forward a couple of decades and I’m now happily settled in my adopted country with my husband and two tween girls. I’m also finally returning to my first love: Art!

In 2021 I took a leap of faith, and decided to finally follow my dream to be an artist. And I couldn’t be happier…

I spend my days exploring new ideas and perfecting my craft. I’m inspired by fairytale palaces, ancient maps, and wild flowers that grow from the tiniest crevices. I’m drawn to the historical patterns that adorn the walls and furnishings of period homes, such as Indian Florals and Arts & Craft movement designs. The wonderful traditions and landscapes of both Scotland and Portugal nourish my imagination and are a constant source of ideas.

When I’m not at work in my home studio (or running after my kids), you can find me exploring ancient forests in the nearby natural park, or pruning the crazy bougainvillea in my garden!
